Netflix Orders First Medical Procedural ‘Pulse’; Justina Machado Cast In Series From Zoe Robyn & Carlton Cuse
Grey’s Anatomy has been among Netflix’s top draws for a decade. Now the streamer is venturing into the medical procedural genre that has been a broadcast staple with its first original, Pulse. The series comes from first-time creator Zoe Robyn (The Equalizer) who serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside veteran Carlton Cuse (Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, Locke and Key). Justina Machado (The Horror Of Dolores Roach) is the first series regular cast in the show, whose first two episodes will be directed and executive produced by Kate Dennis (The Handmaid’s Tale, New Amsterdam).

America Ferrera‘s hot streak continues, as the Barbie Oscar nom has been set to executive produce and star in Naked by the Window, a series adaptation of the book by Robert Katz, which has landed at Amazon MGM Studios for development following a bidding war.
Originally published in 1990, the book tells the true story of the groundbreaking Cuban artist Ana Mendieta, her formidable impact on the New York art scene, and the controversial trial of her sculptor husband, Carl Andre, for her sudden and tragic death.

Last month, writer and director Alessandra Lacorazza Samudio’s debut feature film, “In the Summers,” was a big winner at the Sundance Film Festival, winning the Grand Jury Prize Dramatic. The film, which stars Sasha Calle and musician René Pérez (Residente from the hip-hop duo Calle 13), is a coming-of-age story shot in New Mexico. It was produced by Luz Films, a new production company co-founded by Houston native Sergio Lira.
‘Bewitched’ Series Reboot In Works From Judalina Neira Under Overall Deal With Sony Pictures TV
Writer-producer Judalina Neira (The Boys, Daisy Jones and the Six) has signed an overall deal with Sony Pictures Television focused on developing drama series for cable and streaming through her newly launched production company, Famous Last Words Productions. For her first project under the pact, Neira is taking on a signature Sony title, Bewitched.
Written by Neira, the new Bewitched is described as an irreverent hourlong reimagination of the classic TV series. She is executive producing alongside The Goldbergs executive producer Doug Robinson and Lauren Moffat of Sony TV-based Doug Robinson Productions.
