The 2022 Ignition Lab has concluded.

Over the course of 26 weeks in 2022, five writers selected from out of nearly 1000 submissions participated in a writers group to develop and write an original TV project from concept to finished pilot script which UCP compensated at applicable WGA rates.

The fellows met virtually once a week to share materials and provide valuable feedback to one another. Fellows were given notes by Ojalá and at key milestones, they received notes from UCP development executives, giving each creator an opportunity to experience a real studio development process. Once a month, our fellows had the opportunity to be visited by illustrious guest speakers such as; Gloria Calderon Kellet, Steven Canals, Roberto Aguirre-Sacassa, Sera Gamble, Jairo Alvarado and Tanya Saracho, who shared candid, practical and insightful knowledge to this next generation of television creators.  We are so proud of the work conceived in this inaugural lab. The finished scripts represent a fresh variety of genres with compelling and nuanced characters - all told through the Latine lens.
